Safety at Night

  • Making sure you are seen – wear reflective clothingheadlamps, and/or flashing lights so that you are visible to auto drivers, bike riders and other runners
  • Making sure you can see the path and surroundings around you – a bright head lamp shining on the path in front of you can ensure that you avoid stepping on uneven terrain, or tripping on debris on the path in front of you, or running into other runners, pets, etc
  • Knowing where you are going – especially if running alone, it is important to know exactly where you are running, so you don’t get lost in a neighborhood that is not familiar to you
