Tracking Results

There are several tools and electronic methods to track race statistics via GPS devices. I’ve enjoyed tracking marathon and half marathon races in the following ways:

  • Saving all my bibs from half marathons and marathons I’ve run, with date, city, time written on back of bib
  • Entering into a Microsoft Excel Workbook statistics about the half marathons and marathons I’ve completed: examples: location, finish time, mile pace, placement overall and in age and gender groups, weather
  • Entering results into Excel makes it easy to sort, calculate averages, calculate mile pace times, filter, etc race results.
  • Printing and saving my official race results in a binder, including numbering the race completed (example: half marathon #27 for me)
