Racing Diary
Often the most fun and memorable part of running a race, especially at a travel destination, is to keep a journal about the interesting things seen before, during, and after a race.
During my quest to run a half marathon in all fifty states, I kept a journal for the events surrounding the race, including:
- Travel adventures
- The race itself – course scenery and difficulty, swag, volunteers, friendliness of people, results, on-course music, etc.
- Weather
- Family / friend gatherings and events
- Other things to see and do in the race city
- Theme music – a theme song that in some way related to the race
These notes are collected in one journal that is nice to look back on and remember the fun times at each race leading up to the goal accomplishment.
