Other Race Day Reminders - Ask Run Guy

Other Race Day Reminders

  • Have a plan and carry out the plan for meeting or contacting your personal support group after the race.
  • Ensure you can get back to your hotel, and confirm your check out time, based on when you’ll complete the race.
  • Wear personal  identification (such as Road ID) and write this emergency contact information on back of your race bib
  • I like to find out where I finished overall an in my age group at the end of the race.  It is also helpful to me to assess my mile splits, and determine what went well during the race, and what could have gone better, to learn and improve for next race.
  • Be sure to thank all the volunteers and support staff for the race.  They do this for free, and there wouldn’t be a race without them.
  • I like to think of – or even write reminders on body – of people who helped in my race training.  This is an easy way to keep them on your mind – a positive thought pattern during the race.
