FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Generally, listening to music via earphones is allowed in most races. I don’t advise listening to music via earphones during a race. The reasons include:
- Safety & awareness – it is more difficult to hear and be aware of runners around (beside, behind) you while listening to music. I’ve seen several accidents and injuries during races caused by unaware persons listening to music
- Connection with others around you – listening to music takes away your opportunity to interact with fellow runners during the race, and with volunteers and fans
